Dear Friend!
This is a real proposal for you. We need your help, because we live in a Caribbean country, sub-developed and surrounded by poverty. The needs dance trough all levels in this society, even medium class people like us does not have resources to full fill a better health care, better education or better quality of life.
We are two girls trying to make it to Hollywood, to study film making and acting and bring back this knowledge in favor to our country. Is a very expensive workshop but that shouldn't stop us from fighting against lack of money. We need US$15,000.00 to pay for the workshops, housing, food, plane tickets and transportation. The hope engine is moving and the deep desire to see kindness around the world actually happening.
Maybe doubt stop you from giving, many frauds and scams occurred every day in the internet, I have been a victim myself. But We ask little. We want to study, learn and grow as productive individuals, give as much as you can, as little as does not hurt.
If you need to clear your mind about helping us visit the New York Film Academy website http://www.nyfa.com/ and you will find all the info about this workshops.
The money we asking for will be use exclusively to pay the HANDS-ON EIGHT WEEKS FILMAKING AND ACTING WORKSHOPS
Also you can visit our blog http://www.produccionesdominicanas.blogspot.com/ there you will find the projects we have worked in as producers, and different areas of movie business and television. The Dominican movie industry is growing and needs preparation, knowledge
and well formed professionals that improve a global vision trough good entertainment.
It is our dream to be part of this industry looking forward a better one.
Truly yours,
Soraya Mateo

MOTIVACION / MOTIVATION

Dominican Republic is a sub-developed country, with many needs and within these needs is the education, which support is essential to the progress of any nation. The first level of education reaches a high percentage of analphabetism not to mention the flaws of the other levels, high school and college. A country without preparation is a dying country. Looking for a better future, THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF TWO GIRLS, does not have resources to pay for a better education by themselves but keep seeking for knowledge in a world of communication and makes it an instrument of growth and development with your hand.
With your solidarity you can help these two girls to pay for a very expensive workshop in Universal Studios, Hollywood. Your support means the different please let it be true.

HANDS-ON EIGHT-WEEK
FILMMAKING AND ACTING WORKSHOP
FILMMAKING AND ACTING WORKSHOP
Designed for people who wish to study the craft of filmmaking in an intense schedule, the Eight-Week Filmmaking workshop challenges students to produce four films over a period of two months. Students each direct four short films of increasing complexity which are screened and critiqued in class. Students spend a full month producing, directing and editing their final project.
For students with little or no filmmaking experience, the Eight-Week Workshop offers the best of all worlds: focused, learning, hands-on film shoots, and the opportunity to make a fully-realized final film.
The first month of the program is divided between hands-on instruction in class and the production by each student of three short films of increasing difficulty. Students use Arriflex
16mm cameras, Lowel lighting packages, and digital editing systems on Apple Final Cut Pro stations. Special classes in digital camera and lighting are given before students shoot their final films. Following production and postproduction, students screen their work for their classmates and instructors and engage in critiques and discussion. The second month of the program is devoted solely to each student’s final project: a 16mm non-sync or 24p digital film of up to ten minutes. Students have a preproduction period to cast, scout locations, plan their final films and meet with instructors for one-onone consultation.
The rest of the month is devoted to production and postproduction of their final films. Students direct their own projects in three or four person crews. They rotate in the other production positions when fellow crew members direct. At the end of the course, the final films are celebrated in a screening open to cast, crew, friends and family. All students who successfully complete the workshop will receive a New York Film Academy Diploma and leave the program with a digital master of all their projects.
